I was recently contacted by Grzegorz Cisiecki, the screenwriter and director of a short film titled, Smoke (Dym). He wrote me and asked if I would view his film - and I did.When I was through, I did not know what to make of what I'd just seen. So I watched it again.
Still unsure of what the point was, I watched a third and fourth time - but to no avail. Maybe I'm that dense. However, as much as I was confused about what I was seeing, I was hypnotized by the beauty - the dream-like sensuality, and the overall composition.
With very obvious nods to David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick and Ingmar Bergman; Smoke will mesmerize and confound the viewer and stay with him or her long after the final haunting image.
But don't take my word for it, have a look-see.
