Movie Poster Madness: "We Had Faces Then" edition

you'll notice that Jennifer Love Hewitt's rack takes a prominent place in this poster.

And what an amazing rack it is. I remember the David Letterman show where she talked about how she has a name for each one.

Anywhos, funny to see all those posters from horror movies during the 90's-early 00's that all look the same. The recent one for The House on Sorority Row reminded me of these types of poster 'art'.

POT,
Yes, THOSR seemed to ape the look as well, with a somewhat sapphic flavor.

This is and always will be the most terrible and uninspired Horror poster cliche to ever exist. Ever.

I agree with Carl, though you will always know exactly what time period these films were released by the poster (f)art.

Even before I read your knockers comment, Pax, the first thing I saw was that nice set that Jennifer Love Spewitt has! That sure is smart advertising!

I kinda liked this style of posters at that time. Not that they are good, but you could see for miles away that there was a slasher/horror/something similar on it's way to the local cinema.

I never cared of posters anyway, so for me it was just a good and lazy way to check out the new thrillers :)

H20 is still one of the finest modern slashers every. Seriously. And "I still know..." was one of the most entertaining cheese-slashers ever.

Even the non-genre posters of this era looked like this, the "Big Head" approach that assumes that audiences are so dumb that they won't go see anything unless the stars are featured as unambiguously as they can possibly be. Go back and look at everything Travolta was in during this period - they all look alike! Slowly, posters are becoming creative again as the power of stars to open pics is waning of late...

Typical teen-slasher-flick covers. "Look how sexy we are!" And yes, they are. I fall for it every time!
